nursery, after school & holiday club
In Ffalabalam nursery we care for children from 3 months to 4 years old in an environment that is safe, stimulating and fun filled where each child is provided with plenty of opportunities for play, interaction and development.
In the nursery, the children are divided into four main units – Lili Lon, Beti Bwt , Deri Dando and Seren Siw. Within each unit the staff plan and ensure that every child is given opportunities to take part in a wide range of balanced and exciting activities. All children are respected and encouraged and their achievements are praised and appreciated.
Lili Lon Unit
Lili Lon is for babies from 3 months to around 15 months. There is a warm, homely and cosy feel to this unit with rooms that provide opportunities for the babies to play, relax and investigate. listening to soothing music under the supervision of the staff. All the babies in Lili Lon go for daily walks with the staff and the older babies enjoy going outside to play in the garden. There is no set routine within the baby room, as babies are happier when following their own natural routines.
Beti Bwt Unit
In Beti Bwt, the toddlers from around 15 months to 2 years old are ready to investigate further and are encouraged to experiment with different activities and to socialise and play with their friends. Within the unit there are different rooms for children to play, rest and take part in activities. The children in Beti Bwt go outside daily for walks with the staff and to enjoy playing outside in the garden and play games with the staff.
The older toddlers are cared for in our Deri Dando unit. A child’s day in this unit is a little more structured but also flexible to respond to the needs of each child. Indoor and outdoor activities are planned to provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences. The organisation of the unit allows children to socialise with each other in small groups as well as playing, experimenting and investigating as individuals under the supervision of the staff. Within the unit, there is a wide range of resources and equipment carefully arranged within reach of the children.
In our Seren Siw we have our older children and pre-school children. The unit is divides into clear areas and responds to the requirements of the Foundation Stage. Within this unit also, the children take part in indoor and outdoor activities. The weekly timetable is carefully planned by the unit’s Senior Key Worker to encourage each child’s social, educational and emotional development and also to develop their independence and prepare them for when they start full time education.
Ffalabalam, we strongly believe that a healthy child is a happy child and as a nursery that provides full day care for babies from 3 months to children of 4 years old, we feel that we play an important role in developing children’s attitude towards a healthy lifestyle.
Since March 2012, Ffalabalam has joined the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme. The Scheme is funded by Welsh Government and its aims are to promote the health and wellbeing of children in the early years.
The home cooked food provided at our nursery forms the basis of our healthy eating ethos at Ffalabalam. Our chef prepares balanced, nutritious meals for all the children who attend the nursery. We provide breakfast, a hot meal for lunch, pudding and a wide range of freshly prepared healthy snacks for afternoon tea. Our menus are specifically designed to give our children a varied and exciting diet, encouraging them to broaden their horizons, and experience new flavours. We have a four week seasonal menu which is updated and reviewed regularly.
All meals and snacks are cooked fresh on the premises by our experienced chef and we can accommodate any dietary requirements your child may have including Halal, vegetarian dairy, gluten and soya free meals.
Fresh air and outdoor play are very important factors in the care provided at Ffalabalam. The children are given daily opportunities to go for walks with the staff, take part in structured outdoor activities and free play. A full risk assessment is carried out for all outdoor activities and we provide suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor play e.g wellingtons, waterproof dungarees, trousers and raincoats.
There is an area for active play with cars, trucks and ride on bikes and areas for group activities and picnics.

Please contact us for information on the very competitive fee rates here at Ffalabalam.
Our nursery fees include all of the following:
Parents receive a monthly invoice to be paid by the end of each month. We accept cash, cheque and card payments. Payments can also be made on line and we also accept childcare vouchers.
Child Care Vouchers
Child care vouchers allow you to pay nursery fees tax free from your salary. The money comes directly off your salary before deductions, giving you savings on tax and National Insurance contributions. You will then receive a voucher or e-voucher that is given to the nursery and is deducted from your bill. A number of childcare voucher providers offer this service to companies, and many now have online systems. Please ask your employer if this is a benefit they offer. We are registered with a number of voucher providers and are happy to sign with other agencies as used by your employer.
If you receive tax credits the amount you are eligible for may be affected by using childcare vouchers. You can check whether you would be better off taking childcare vouchers through this free online calculator www.hmrc.gov.uk/calcs/ccin.htm
